Prerequisite: Successful completion of SS.03A AP American History with a grade of 80% or better.
Senior Seminar is designed for high school seniors who have successfully completed the AP American History course as juniors. The course is designed for college preparatory students to study Government and Economic systems in depth from an analytical and conceptual approach. primary and secondary documents, texts and readings are at a post-secondary level which requires strong reading and writing skills. The focus of the course is on political, economic, social, and international issues facing Americans, the role of citizens in relationship with government and their economic activities. Written essays, research projects, presentations, and student participation in discussions are required and are the key elements of instruction in the course. Students will be required to lead discussions and debates. A research paper and local government project are to be submitted during the course.
