It is with great pride that I welcome you to to Penns Valley Jr. Sr. High School.  Our building is home to over 750 students in grades seven through twelve with approximately 70 staff members.  In addition to course work our students and community participate in a multitude of activities which include service oriented clubs, performances and competitions.  I am proud to report that our small community school offers a wide variety of opportunities for students in the area of academics, music, art, technology and athletics.  Students who wish to pursue career and technical education curriculum may attend the Central Pennsylvania Institute for Technology.  Together our staff, parents and community support the same mission: To Empower Our Students Everyday to Meet Individual Success!

Our school building is continually alive with people working, playing, learning, laughing and enjoying all kinds of activities.  During an average school day, students and staff can be seen reviewing classroom lessons, studying for exams, working together on projects. Our faculty works incredibly hard to demonstrate exceptional teaching that is reflective of the best practice in education.  Teachers and staff members provide many extra opportunities for students who are struggling and for students who wish to be challenged at higher levels.  Some students can be found working with teachers well before first period, as well as throughout the day, after school, in the evenings and sometimes on weekends.  Penns Valley teachers’ are truly committed to each student and that is what sets them apart from any other faculties in the area and across the state.

At Penns Valley we use data from multiple sources to determine our progress each school year.  Our school has made Adequate Yearly Progress by meeting all goals established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.  Our plan for continuous improvement includes actions for improving instruction at all levels, below basic through advanced.  Our district takes great pride in maintaining high expectations for all students.
